They are 16''-18' long fairly small bird . Occurs in
rain forest hardwood-conifer ecotone areas of
western Oregon ,and western Washington up
into South western British Columbia Canada and South into the northern tip of California.They
only have a bright red phaze.

We feed Mazuri maintenance pellts.along with
fresh -cut dandelions,and cut up cranberries coated with Vionate mineral powder.

They are fairly tame, but generally not as
calm as spruce grouse. But they are incredibly
popular among aviculturists. They are a great stater grouse to work with.

Production: 8 eggs per clutch average

They can handle fairly hot climates if properly shaded.
